Restoration of a historic structure is almost finished. The project began several months ago, in June, and was ordered by President Donald Trump. Work included refurbishing stonework and plaster due to age and weather damage. Security enhancements and door upgrades were also part of the project.

The structure's front columns were covered since July, but scaffolding was removed recently, following the removal of shrouds. This work is nearing completion ahead of a state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping in late September.

Further details about the project are available, including information about the historic significance of the structure, which dates back to 1830.
