A bridge is expected to reopen this weekend after being impassable for less than two months due to flood damage. The Farm-to-Market 481 bridge was restored over 37 days. It is considered a vital connection and will allow drivers to travel over the Nueces River again.

The bridge was damaged in the July 2026 floods that affected South Texas and the Hill Country. An emergency repair contract was initiated on July 28.

Further details about the bridge's reopening and the repair work are available from the Texas Department of Transportation.
