A massive wildfire has grown to one of the largest on record, scorching 85,000 acres in just three days. The fire began near Palo Pinto and spread rapidly across dry ranchland in Palo Pinto and Jack counties. By the end of the week, the fire was 26% contained, with firefighters establishing lines to stop its spread.

The fire's size doubled to about 50,000 acres in a matter of hours on Tuesday, and continued to grow. Firefighters reported extreme behavior, including groups of trees torching amid strong winds.
