A massive wildfire is burning in eastern Belgium, forcing hundreds to evacuate. The fire has burned about 30 square kilometers in the High Fens nature reserve. Residents in nearby municipalities were told to leave as winds shifted and smoke spread.

A gymnasium was opened to receive evacuees. More than 250 emergency personnel, including firefighters, police, and military officers, have been deployed to battle the fire. Firefighting helicopters are also being used.
