Morgan Freeman, an Academy Award winner and blues enthusiast, has been involved in a project to promote the genre. About 25 years ago, he was in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where out-of-towners were looking for places to hear blues music. At the time, there were many musicians but few venues.

Freeman and his partners opened a juke joint called Ground Zero Blues Club in response to this need. More recently, they created a touring ensemble that combines blues with classical music, called Morgan Freeman's Symphonic Blues Experience. An album with the same name is set to be released, with Freeman serving as a producer and narrator.

Further details about the album and the project are available from the source.
